Home/Work/Digital signage design platform
Digital signage design platform
A browser editor for screens: timeline and keyframe animation, audio tracks, scheduled playlists, and widgets bound to live point-of-sale data so a menu board reprices itself without anyone opening the editor.

The situation
Digital menu boards and promotional screens that had to be updated by non-technical staff, in venues where prices and availability change during the day.
What we built
- A browser design editor for screen layouts, built on a custom canvas rather than an off-the-shelf component
- Timeline and keyframe animation with easing, so content moves rather than just cuts
- Audio tracks synchronised to the timeline
- Scheduled playlists with dayparting, so breakfast and dinner boards switch themselves
- Widgets bound to live point-of-sale data — a price change in the till reprices the board
- Real-time preview and publishing to connected screens over WebSockets
Engineering notes
The interesting constraint was that the people using the editor are not designers — they are duty managers between shifts. That pushed the design toward strong defaults, templates and constrained layouts rather than a blank canvas. The live data binding was the feature that removed the manual work entirely: once a widget is bound to a product, nobody has to open the editor again.
Tell me what your customers should be able to design.
If your process today is an email, a sketch, and somebody rebuilding it by hand afterwards — that's the problem I work on.
