Privacy policy

What this site collects, why, and what happens to it.

Who we are

ByteFold is a software development studio. You can reach us at [email protected] about anything on this page, including a request to see or delete the data we hold about you.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details. If you submit the contact form we receive your name, email address, company, website, the type of project and whatever you write in the message field.
  • Email correspondence. Anything you send us by email, kept for as long as the business relationship and our record-keeping obligations require.
  • Analytics. Aggregate, non-identifying information about how pages on this site are used — page views, referrers, approximate country, device type.
  • Advertising measurement. If we run advertising, the platforms involved may set cookies to measure whether an advert led to an enquiry.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for or store payment details on this website, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.

Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry, to carry out work you have engaged us for, to keep proper business records, and to understand which pages and which adverts are useful. Where the law requires consent — analytics and advertising cookies — we ask for it first, and you can decline without losing access to anything.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run the business: email hosting, website hosting and content delivery, analytics, and — if you become a client — invoicing. Each processes data on our instructions. We do not share enquiry details with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted after two years. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business records, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Cookies

Cookies strictly necessary for the site to function are set automatically. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you agree. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the site will continue to work.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date below and, where the change affects how we use data you have already given us, contact you directly.
